How to install ghost in mac

Ghost is nice plat for blogging.Sometimes we want to setup this locally in our local machine. But when we start work we feel some problems. In below I will explain those as a tutorial. Ghost setup in mac and linux is almost same

Ghost install prerequisition:

  1. Download ghost
  2. install nodejs specific version

Download ghost form here ghost download latest version

Now we will install nodejs.

Ghost does not support all nodejs version. so we will specify the nodejs version. In nodejs there is a nice package nvm for control the node package. we will use this. At first we need to install nvm

Run this command for install nvm
curl -o- | bash

Then run those export NVM_DIR="$HOME/.nvm"
[ -s "$NVM_DIR/" ] && \. "$NVM_DIR/" [ -s "$NVM_DIR/bash_completion" ] && \. "$NVM_DIR/bash_completion"

now you can check the node version on remote
nvm ls-remote

we will install nodejs 6.9.0 version for ghost
nvm install 6.9.0

we will use this version so
nvm use 6.9.0

also can set it as default
nvm alias default 6.9.0

now check the node version
node -v

Install the ghost :
- > extract download ghost file and enter into folder - > run this commadn npm install --production

npm start

Your ghost blog will run this default port

for backend

Your ghost blog is ready on mac.Happy to use this :)
